Cigar News: Crowned Heads Announces Paniolo Especiale 2022 – Exclusive for Hawaii

For the first time since 2017, and only the second time since 2015, Crowned Heads has teamed up with Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and Tabacalera La Alianza to produce their Hawaii-exclusive cigar, Paniolo Especiale.

The Paniolo Especiale 2022 is a 5 1/4 x 52 robusto extra cigar, manufactured at Tabacalera La Alianza in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The blend is comprised of a Connecticut (Habano) binder, filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, and is finished with an Ecuadorian (Sumatra) wrapper. The cigars will be packaged in 10-count boxes, with a total production limited to 400 boxes (4,000 total cigars), and will carry a suggested retail price of $11 per cigar.

Crowned Heads co-founder, Jon Huber commented:

“We missed out on a 2021 Paniolo release due to the pandemic, so it was important to me that we come back this year with a bang. I’d reached out to Ernesto earlier this year and expressed interest in creating a ‘throwback blend’ to some of the cigars he was famous for in the 1990’s because I was a fan of those hearty, robust blends. Once we nailed down the blend, I knew I wanted to utilize it and debut it to our family of supporters in Hawaii at our Paniolo event which has become near and dear to my heart.”

The Paniolo Especiale 2022 will be released on September 9, 2022 (6:30-9:30pm), at an exclusive dinner event hosted by R. Field Wine Co. at the Prince Waikiki Hotel. Seating is limited. Please contact Marvin Chang to purchase tickets at [email protected].
