Cubariqueño Cigar Co. the guys that brought you the award winning Protocol blends are starting to misbehave. Today they announced the release of the Protocol Official Misconduct. As in all Protocol blends, the company is using Erik Espinosa’s LaZona Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua to produce the cigar.
The name continues with the Protocol theme of Law & Law Enforcement as owners Bill Ives and Juan Cancel are police officers & Bill Agathis an attorney.
The trio described the blend as:
- Wrapper – Ecuadorian Habano
- Filler – Nicaraguan
- Binder – Nicaraguan (Esteli and Jalapa)
The Protocol Official Misconduct will be available in a single 6 x 50 vitola and will come packaged in 10-count boxes.
Kevin Keithan, National Sales Manager stated in the press release:
“The Protocol Official Misconduct Cigars are being classified as medium plus in strength.”
The company plans the initial release during Cubariqueno’s 3 Year Anniversary event on May 12th at the Holiday Inn located in Clinton, New Jersey through Berkeley Humidor. They have also stated that pre-sales will be available through BerkeleyHumidor.com initially.
Retailers will begin receiving the Protocol Official Misconduct on May 15th and they will be featured at this years IPCPR in Las Vegasthis summer.
In addition to the release of the Protocol Official Misconduct, Cubariqueno also announced a line extension in the Probable Cause line.

“Cubariqueno has added a Corona Gorda measuring 5 5/8 x 46 to their portfolio. Those cigars will also be made available in boxes of 10 at the Anniversary event and will also ship to retailers on May 15th.”
