Well 2015 has come and gone, as fast as the cigars, rum, and scotch that brought stories to the Stogie Press lounge. It was a an amazing year that brought many travels and adventures. The growth in Stogie Press has been steady reaching new monthly highs in viewership. We have met many new brothers and sisters of the leaf and expect to meet even more in 2016 as we start the year in a retrospective in this month’s issue.
To start the new year off with a bang, Stogie Press was invited to be a member of the Cigar Media Association (CMA). This is quite the honor and a testament of the hard work and dedication the Stogie Press team has put in, to bring our viewers the best in news, entertainment, and reviews in the cigar world.
As usual we have made our annual trip to the Conch Republic and paid a visit to Rodriguez Cigars to catch up with Danny DiFabio and his family. We learned much about his company’s growth and future plans. Check out the special video interview with this cigar man.
We also took Danny’s suggestion and stayed overnight at the new Gates Hotel. This month we present a feature article on it. If you are ever in Key West, and I know you enjoy a good cigar, then make this hotel one of your resting spots which is complete with a cigar lounge and humidor. Smoke one in paradise and mention you heard about the Gates from Stogie Press.
If you are new to Stogie Press or have not been on the site lately you may be interested in some of the top 10 articles/reviews of 2015. Topping the list was our ladies of the leaf article followed by the review of the Island Jim #2 cigar review both of which continue to get views. Check out our most visited cigar reviews in our retrospect article.
As is tradition here at Stogie Press, a the stroke of midnight New Year’s Eve, we published our top 25 boutique cigars which continues to be viewed. Now we all like these kinds of lists and they seem to still flow out. We felt it would be good to pay attention to the lighter shade of cigars and this month we have published the Stogie Press Top Connecticut Shade Cigars. Even if you are not a big fan of the tan smokes you should check these out as they stand out above the crowd with flavor and strength. The number 1 is the Drew Estate Undercrown Shade.
While we were in the final preparation of this months issue, Boston Jimmie was called upon to visit Nuremberg, Germany and re-acquainted himself with some old stomping grounds and “stumble ins” while there. One of his favorite establishments is the Casa Del Habanos shop in the center of this beautiful European city. Of course the memory was not complete without enjoying his all time favorite cigar the Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro. You can read his poetic review in this months issue in the article titled “An Ode to Nuremberg“
Stogie Press is continuing to grow with the help of our followers, sponsors, and social media friends that keep us motivated and excited to continue to do what we do best. Loving the Lifestyle and Finding the Flavor.
Here’s to a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2016.
